Getting started

Gamepad Pro needs two things: the app on your phone and the free companion app on your Windows PC (download it here). Start the companion, scan the QR code it shows with your phone, pick a layout, and play. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

My phone can’t find the PC

Make sure the phone and the PC are on the same network — a guest Wi-Fi, a VPN, or a hotspot on either device will keep them apart. If the network is right, check that the Windows firewall isn’t blocking the companion app; it asks for network permission on first launch.

On iPhone, the first connection triggers a “Local Network” permission prompt — if it was declined, enable it under Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

Games don’t react to input

The PC sees Gamepad Pro as a regular Xbox 360 controller, so any game with controller support should work. If nothing reacts, make sure the companion app shows the phone as connected, and restart the game so it re-scans for controllers. Older installs: update the companion app to the latest version — most silent issues are an outdated PC-side install.
